Building on a legacy of methodologies developed at Mel Chin Studio, S.O.U.R.C.E. investigates, creates, and supports the production of artisticic projects while centering action-based learning, critical reflection, and honest accountability. Rooted in community, our projects often take an iterative approach that makes space for experimentation and breakthroughs.
Fundred Project
Initiated by artist Mel Chin in 2008, Fundred connects individuals and communities across the country in a collective effort to bring visibility to the widespread threat of lead poisoning. S.O.U.R.C.E. Studio supports the Fundred Project by providing production, project management and administrative capacities since 2017.
MEMORY BUILDS THE MONUMENT
Compelled by vivid memories of the legendary Club Matinee by Houston’s elders, Memory Builds the Monument is an artist-led project to document the rich history of the Greater Fifth Ward—and explore how memories, on the verge of being lost, can be shared to propel the future.
