OUR TEAM
Amanda Wiles, Director
Amanda is an artist and the Director of S.O.U.R.C.E Studio. Prior to this role she was the Director of Fundred Project and a special projects manager at Mel Chin Studio. Balancing creativity and pragmatism, Wiles works with artists and organizations that value artistic processes for experimentation, collaboration, and connection.
She has worked with artist Mel Chin for over a decade supporting creative collaborations that bring people together in purpose and vision. With Mel Chin Studio, Wiles has led project teams and productions across the country and has been involved in many aspects of exhibition and project production. With Fundred Project, her involvement began supporting initial actions on the ground in New Orleans, coordinating educators across the country from 2008-2010, leading multiple city-based iterations, and leading DC programs. Wiles also led Chin’s 2016 Los Angeles project, The Tie That Binds, a community land art work that connects people across the city to native plant landscapes, to each other, and to the important issue of water.
Wiles currently serves on the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center in Asheville, NC. Wiles holds a Master’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and received her undergraduate degree in Fine Art from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.
