Sinéad López, Board Member
Sinéad López (she/her) has a decade of experience in the social justice nonprofit sector, with an emphasis on building BIPOC-led cultural, narrative, and civic power from within institutional family philanthropy. In her former capacity as a national grantmaker at the Surdna and Nathan Cummings foundations, she mobilized over $60M for historically marginalized communities fighting for justice and multiracial democracy, including artists, storytellers, cultural strategists, culture bearers, journalists, urban planners, faith organizers, and movement builders.
Sinéad is currently a Senior Consultant at RAE Consulting and a Senior Fellow at the Building Power Resource Center (BPRC). In all her work, she is committed to the long-term, collective work of building and sustaining strong, values-aligned leadership, people power, institutions, and infrastructure to secure a more just and equitable society. She has served on the boards or steering committees of Critical Minded, the Mosaic Network & Fund, the NY Chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, and the Association of Latinx Students & Allies in Public Service. She has also recently held graduate fellowships at BPRC, Make the Road NY (NYU Democracy Project LEAD Fellow), and NYU Wagner (Lisa Ellen Goldberg Fellow).
Sinéad has an MPA in Public & Nonprofit Management & Policy with an Advocacy & Political Action specialization from NYU Wagner, as well as a BA with honors in Art History from Northwestern University. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, with multigenerational Xicanx roots in New Mexico, Sinéad is proudly celebrating 10 years in New York.
